Sure wedding costs a lot but doesn’t mean you need to short-cut the essential thing–paying professional makeup artist for your wedding. You spent thousands of money for venues and photographer, and if you want to look fabulous on your big day, don’t do your own makeup! Why? Because it is your day to get pampered and shine! As a photographer, I want you to look your absolute best in all angles even in photographs. No matter how makeup-savvy you may be, you don’t want to do your own makeup your wedding-day. Avoid Sunscreen with SPF

Highly recommended that you wear some kind of skincare products to protect your face. While sunscreens can protect your skin from skin cancer or skin damages; but, understand that SPF can cast weird and unflattering lights on your face when it comes to photography If you must wear sunscreen or SPF with your makeup, use a moisture with SPF instead of a foundation with SPF. Also, when you work with a professional makeup artist, you don’t have to worry which skincare products contain SPF or not.
Don’t Use White Finishing Powder and Sparkles in your Makeup!
Powder and sparkles are like white reflectors.
Various element of lights can reflect off your skin to cast an undesirable skin tone such as white finishing powder. Wearing white finishing powder and Sparkles can have similar affects in photographs as sunscreen with SPF. Consult with your professional makeup artist to avoid this issue. If at all cost, avoid it all together.

For brides that don’t usually wear makeup on the normal day, highly recommend that you wear more makeup than your usual day.
Makeup accentuate or refine the beauty that already existed especially in photo shoots. Makeup highlights your unique beauty such your cheekbones or your eyes. A little makeup can create a more stunning and timeless picture when the lights hit your skin in that moment. If you are worry about makeup that clog your pores or too much on your face. Consult with you makeup artist to determine what kind of product works for your skin tone.
Wear a Waterproof Mascara

You know that Weddings can be very emotional in the best way possible. Whether you are the type of bride that rarely cry at the sappy romance movies or you’re the type that cry easily, waterproof mascara is a must. Unless you are intentionally going for a raccoon or black eyes look then by all mean go for non-waterproof mascara. Regardless if you’re going to shed a tear or not, wearing waterproof mascara is great especially for a Summer time wedding.
Avoid Bright Red Lipstick

This is one of those fine line and can depend on the look you want. Red lipstick is pretty and sexy but from my personal experience and from the professional makeup artist, we don’t recommend it. Why? Because Red lipstick can be messy. It get on your beautiful white or champagne dress or even on your beautiful white teeth, it is harder to get it off. Plus, if you’re going after a natural, elegant, and classy look then red is not something you want. Trust us!
Blotting Tissue Paper is must have!
Tissue Paper is great for oil absorption.
They helps retain moisture.
Always have a blotting tissue paper in hand instead of pressing powder. Blotting paper is a great solution to maintain the same classic look without disrupt your makeup. In addition, it helps dry-off any excessive sweat without messing up the makeup. Don’t reapply pressing powder. Instead, using blotting tissue paper. It helps absorb oil and sweat, keep the face shine free.
Avoid Trendy Makeup
Cat eyes makeup is a trend now but not a year from.
My rule of thumb, stick with natural look. If you don’t usually wear makeup don’t go for the cat eyes or smokey eyes. You don’t want to look like a raccoon or outdated when you look through your wedding album ten or twenty years from now.
